If you’re looking for an activity holiday where you can learn to sail or even perfect your style, Sardinia is just the place for you: a paradise for sailing, both if you’re a beginner or a more experienced sailboater. Calapineta in collaboration with the Amfibie Treks Sailing School offers individual or group lessons in centreboard or catamaran sailing and windsurfing. Lessons are run from the beach at Santa Lucia.
A south-easterly wind blows almost daily in the Santa Lucia bay, 2-3 Beaufort in the morning and 4-5 Beaufort in the afternoon. The sea is generally calm in the summer months, providing the perfect weather conditions for beginners. The water is warm in the summer too, so there’s no need for a wetsuit! But if you do feel the cold, Amfibie Treks have wetsuits for hire.

Amfibie Treks offers sailing courses in compliance with the internationally recognized VDWS system. Over three days, participants learn the basics of sailing in a Varuna 500 boat. The course is for a total of 9 hours (3 hours a day) at the end of which successful participants are awarded an official VDWS certificate. Amfibie Treks uses a modern transmitter system which allows the instructor to be in constant contact with the participants. This ensures the utmost degree of safety and speed of learning.

Optimist sailing course
For children aged 6 – 12, Amfibie Treks offers a sailing course on Optimist boats. The course is for a total of 9 hours (3 hours a day).

Catamaran sailing course
If you’re already an expert at sailing, other than a Varuna sailing course you could try the thrill of the Catamaran.
The catamaran sailing course is run in compliance with the internationally recognized VDWS system. The catamaran sailing course is run using a modern transmitter system which allows the instructor to be in constant contact with the participants. Participants may choose to finish the course with an official VDWS certificate which is recognized worldwide by sailing schools and boat hire companies.
Catamaran sailing course: suitable for beginners and advanced level

Windsurfing
Our windsurfing school offers courses catering for all levels. Beginners are offered an intensive 3-day course, 3 hours in the morning or 3 hours in the afternoon. The windsurfing school has a vast array of different boards and sails, suitable for beginners and more advanced windsurfers. Participants may also use the equipment to practice in their own time outside of scheduled lessons.

Participants must weigh more than 35 kilos.
